Swedish Energy Agency SEK 11 million grant to help fund Vaja’s latest pilot project

2025-09-23

Earlier this fall, Vaja was one of nine innovative companies selected to receive a funding grant within the pilot- and demonstration project program from the Swedish Energy Agency. This is the second grant that Vaja was awarded from the organization, bringing the total amount of secured pre-seed and grant funding to approximately 3 million Euro since Vaja’s inception.

“Over the last year, Vaja has been sprinting toward commercialization of our wind-responsive solar tracking technology,” said Henrik Eskilsson, Vaja CEO. “Funds from the Swedish Energy Agency and our existing investors will help accelerate our work to make solar power more productive and profitable for a huge portion of the globe, including all of Europe and much of North America and Asia.”

The Swedish Energy Agency grant program was designed to recognize projects with the potential to reduce Sweden’s climate impact and strengthen the nation’s competitiveness on the global stage.

The funded project aims to further refine the design and industrialization of VajaTrack, the company’s vertical solar tracking solution, and to validate this in a larger-scale pilot installation together with a customer.

Since the beginning of 2025, Vaja has made dramatic progress in validating the durability of its solar tracking system with thousands of hours of real-world testing, dozens of patent applications to protect its novel wind-responsive technology and even winning its first commercial customers.
