For utility-scale solar farms
Higher returns for solar farms
Utility-scale solar farms built with Vaja’s cost-effective solar tracking systems produce more energy and increase profitability.
For companies developing and building solar parks
VajaTrack is a complete solar tracking system
We offer VajaTrack to companies that develop and build solar parks, including project developers, independent power producers (IPPs), and contractors (EPCs).
VajaTrack is a complete solar tracking system, including ground anchoring, mounting structures, transmission systems, electronics, and software.
We can also assist with project planning, installation, quality assurance, operations, and maintenance.

Significantly higher performance
Up to 35% higher electricity production
Solar parks built with VajaTrack produce significantly more electricity than those with static panels.
Within Europe, VajaTrack delivers between +25% and +35% more electricity than fixed south-facing panels. Compared to fixed panels in west- and east-facing positions, the increase is even higher.
High output all day
Higher value per kWh
Compared to static installations, almost all extra energy with VajaTrack is produced during mornings and afternoons/evenings—exactly when the power grid requires extra capacity and when electricity prices are significantly higher.
Therefore, a solar farm with VajaTrack not only produces significantly more kilowatt-hours – it also reduces the need for battery storage and achieves a higher price per kWh than conventional solutions. Across European latitudes, a solar farm built with VajaTrack delivers 30–50% higher revenue than a system with fixed south-facing panels.
The result: substantially higher profitability for solar farms

Solar trackers are an established technology
Vertical solar trackers are superior beyond the 30° latitude
Horizontal solar trackers have become the standard for solar farms built closer to the equator. Such systems rotate the panels around a horizontal axis. However, at latitudes further from the equator, the performance of horizontal solar trackers decreases due to the sun’s lower path across the sky.
On vertical solar trackers, the panels are instead mounted at a steep incline and rotate around a vertical axis. Beyond the 30° latitude, vertical solar trackers therefore produce more electricity than horizontal trackers, especially during the critical winter half of the year.
Superior across half the planet
Higher electricity production than horizontal solar trackers – especially during the winter half of the year
Beyond the 30th parallel (which includes all of Europe and large parts of North America and Asia), VajaTrack produces more electricity than horizontal solar trackers.
In Europe, the increase ranges from +3% to +18% more total electricity production (with higher increases further north).
Compared to horizontal solar trackers, solar parks with VajaTrack generate almost all extra energy during the winter half of the year. This will become a decisive advantage as the increasing penetration of solar energy in the European power system drives up the differences between winter and summer prices.
The result: both higher and more future-proof profitability

Streamlined and cost-effective
VajaTrack solves the wind challenge for vertical solar trackers
Until now, vertical (and dual-axis) solar trackers have been expensive to purchase and operate, and vulnerable to high winds.
Vaja solves this with our patented passive ‘feathering’ mechanics, which reduce wind loads by over 80%, providing a highly durable and cost-effective solution.
Simple and efficient ground anchoring, less steel in the construction, and significantly more panel surface area per motor make VajaTrack cost-effective to purchase and ensure very low maintenance costs.
Robust and reliable
Thoroughly tested in Nordic climates
VajaTrack has been rigorously tested in Sweden’s tough Nordic climate.
The system operates reliably in severe cold, and snow naturally slides off the panels.
Most importantly, the system is designed and validated to withstand hurricane-force winds.

A solar tracking system that delivers more profitable solar parks

Significantly higher electricity production
A solar park with VajaTrack produces 25–35% more electricity than statically mounted panels, and 3–18% more than horizontal solar trackers.

Higher capture price
Production is particularly high in the morning and evening, and compared to horizontal solar trackers, production is much higher during the valuable winter half of the year.

Robust
Our unique ‘feathering’ mechanics ensure the system can withstand extreme winds.
Cost-effective
Simpler ground anchoring, less steel, and fewer motors make VajaTrack cost-effective to purchase and result in low maintenance costs.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about our solar parks
Solar tracking systems rotate solar panels to follow the sun throughout the day, significantly increasing electricity production. Especially during the more valuable morning and evening hours. Solar trackers are already standard for ground-mounted solar energy built closer to the equator, but the technology used there is not effective further from the equator where the sun moves across the sky in a lower arc. VajaTrack is the world’s first solar tracking system optimized for us at more northern latitudes and is also truly cost-effective.
Vaja’s smart vertical solar tracker system turns the solar panels to follow the sun throughout the day. This allows the system to produce 25-35% more electricity than fixed ground-mounted panels in a south-facing position for various locations in Europe. And revenues are often even higher because the production increase is greatest during the more valuable morning and evening hours.
Vaja’s solar tracker system is a vertical solar tracker system and produces more electricity than horizontal solar tracker systems beyond the 30th parallel (e.g., Cairo in Egypt is located at that latitude).
Horizontal solar trackers rotate the solar panels around a horizontal axis, while vertical solar trackers have the panels mounted at a steep angle that rotates around a vertical axis. VajaTrack is a vertical solar tracker system.
This means that horizontal solar trackers are very efficient near the equator where the sun moves in a high path across the sky, while vertical solar trackers are most efficient further from the equator where the sun moves in a lower path.
The threshold where vertical solar trackers produce more electricity than horizontal ones is at the 30th parallel.
Vaja is a Swedish product company that has developed a new patented solar tracking technology. Our product targets a global market, but initially, we primarily offer the solution in Sweden. We deliver complete solutions to our customers, but we differentiate ourselves from other solar energy companies with our unique, proprietary technology, which is key to more profitable solar power.
Yes. Vaja is a Swedish company and of course our solution is optimized to function year after year in our harsh Nordic climate with rain, snow, ice, and significant sub-zero temperatures.
